Paris the city of Love (???)

ok so the last few days of my trip have been pretty incredible. I've met so many people here in Paris and in doing so, it's pushed Paris to one of the best cities that I've traveled to so far. Earlier today I was sitting in the garden at Versailles just thinking about the last couple of days and how much fun it's been. I'll try to sum it all up real fast but neither my writing skills or anyone else for that matter can explain the experience to it's true potential.

Anyway, without knowing where i was going or what i would be doing in Paris I arrived at the train station and promptly got a chicken sandwich (it was awesome). Anyway, when i was on the train from Bayeux to Paris I looked a bit through the guidebook that I had and tried to figure out a place to stay. One of the hostels in the book was called the peace and love hostel. I figured that it sounded like a good place to stay and luckily they had a room. It took a bit of time to actually find the place because the maps in lonely planet are pretty much crap, but when I arrived looked in and saw a small place that just looked like a pub. However, there were other backpacks there so I figured that i was in the right place. I checked in and all of that fun stuff and was told that there was a 2 hour walking tour that started in 1 hour and that it was only 5 euro. I figured it'd be interesting and it'd be a good way to meet people and boy was i ever right. Not only did I see a bunch of things in Paris that I would have never seen such as the Moulin Rouge, scenes from Amelie, the space invader deals, Picasso stuff plus more... I also made great friends a couple of which stayed at the hostel about the same amount of time as me (4 nights) so we also became drinking buddies.

I don't have time to properly explain all of our late night adventures but they we great and I'm sure if you ask me sometime I'll be able to remember a few of them. Anyway, on a side note except for a few people that I hung out with for multiple days we all decided that it'd be easier to call each other by where we are from or some distinct characteristic instead of what our names are. This is because names are just impossible for anyone to remember and for some reason cities or countries are much easier. So there was Chile, Sydney the tour guide, Canada, England, Pajamas, Vin Diesel, Super Man and others. Not everyone was with us the whole time and other people joined on different days but that's really not that big of a deal. Out of all of these people I met 3 of them (Chile aka Camilo, Canada aka Scott and Vin Diesel aka Brian were there for all 4 nights. We had a couple of great nights on the town meeting locals, girls and seeing all crazy kinds of things from a guy taking a shit in front of an ambulance to a fight on a bus.

During the day we did all of the touristy things as well. But that's not very interesting so I'm not going to get into it.

For the actual stories of what happened out on the town you will probably have to ask me. I typed a few of them up but something crazy happened with the internet and they are gone forever. Most of it would probably be a you have to be there story, but there are some great ones as well.

Anyway, my time here is running out. Tonight i sleep in the airport here in Paris and then I take the 825 flight off to Prague. My time here has been excellent, traveling alone is very rewarding and it is actually much much easier to meet people than in a giant group. So this is my goodbye to France it was great but expensive.

once again pictures will come... i just never have the proper cord with me when i come here.
